Flood report

The church received about one foot of water during the latest flood. The Killawog fire department graciously pumped out most of the water. The rest was removed by a small sump of our own. This water was not mud filled like the last time (Oct of 2010), so cleanup should not take quite so long. The parsonage had almost five feet of water in the basement. It took about five days for the sumps to clear it out. We often get water in the parsonage basement, so everything important is kept eye level or above. The Lord graciously allowed us to be north of the major flooding in Binghamton.

Birthday celebration

September 11th we will be joining our daughter church Marathon Baptist for their 150th birthday celebration. Many of our members will be involved in a joint choir for this event. Please take a moment on this day to remember the families of those who lost loved ones on 9/11. We will be having some of our Sunday school classes, during the month of September, devoted to the 400th anniversary of the KJV Bible. I have always believed that of all the translations this one is the most trustworthy as it alone is based on the recieved text.
