Pastor resigning

          It is with great sadness that I submit my resignation effective November 1^st.  The church needs to have someone with the gift of evangelism if it is to survive. I have recognized this need and sought to fill it with the addition of an intern, whom I would have groomed to take over the church when I retired. The inability to secure an intern and the lack of a job offer from Syracuse for Ann has lead to my decision. Ann has been offered a job at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, a suburb of Harrisburg PA.  I will be seeking a semi-retirement ministry in that area in pulpit supply, interim work, or Biblical counseling

Ann will start her new job on Sept. 9^th.   I will be living here until such time as we can purchase a home in the Harrisburg area. Once a home is secured, we will set a date to move our belongings.  Ann will be staying in Harrisburg, working and looking for a home. She will travel back on weekends. It is our sincere hope and prayer that you will be able to secure someone with the gift of evangelism that will be able to grow the church.

Evangelist Randy Chovan is coming to Killawog on August 10-14. Randy will be speaking in all services on Sunday and will then speak at 7PM nightly Monday through Wednesday. Evangelist Chovan was converted on the island of Okinawa, Japan, while serving in the US Air Force in 1976. God called him to the Gospel ministry the same year. He received his education from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN, and from Spurgeon Baptist Bible College in Mulberry, FL.


Randy Chovan has been a Pastor and an Evangelist for over 30 years. He has traveled extensively, preaching the Gospel on six continents. He possesses a wealth of experience and knowledge that enhances his biblical preaching.

Evangelist Chovan is married and has three children. His wife, Grace Morrell Chovan, shares in the ministry through sacred recitations. The Chovans make their home in Huntsville, AL.

The community is invited. We hope to see you there.

Christmas Season

Killawog baptist Church is entering the Christmas season. This involves a change over to our winter hours. Prayer meeting will be held in homes. You can call 607-849-3406 for the schedule.
There is no evening service until the Easter season. Christmas Caroling will be conducted on December 12th. Second Sunday dinners return for Jan, Feb, and March. Our December services will focus on the theme "The Greatest Givers". I hope you will join us in celebrating the saviour's birth.

We are looking forward to the fall season. We are kicking off with the harvest dinner on October 21st. The speaker will be Charlie Payne. Regular servies at 10:00Am and 11AM are followed by a potluck dinner and a second service at 1:30PM. Fall messages are ging to center on some of the great verses with the reference locator of 3:16. We ahve already examined Genesis 3:16 and talked of the role of women in the world today.

August is almost upon us. I am not a techie and so remembering to get this out is challenging for me. August 1st Prime Timers Luncheon: our guest will be Jerry Traister COO of Davis College. He will be bringing an update of what is happening at the college and a challenge from God's word. Later in the month our DVBS program will be kicking off August 20-24. additional details as the tiome nears. Our evening Bible study has been on the book of Hebrews. we try to bring the book to life as we go through it verse by verse oft times taking detours to discuss significant theological topics. It begins at 6:30PM on Sundays. Hope to see you there. 

It has been a long time since we updated, illness and vacations caused this absence. Summer is here and with it Prime Timers our program for those age 50-150 and anyone else who cares to come. The format is a missions speaker and a carry in luncheon. The dates for this year are July 18th, August 1st with Jerry Traister from Davis college, Sept 12th with Gleam ministries. Also in August our DVBS August 20-24 1:00-2:30PM. Looking forward to a great summer. I will be looking for you!

Our schedule of easter services is as follows:

8:00 AM - Early Service (Communion will be served)

9:00 AM - Breakfast

10:00 AM - Special activities in place of Sunday School

11:00 AM - Morning Service
